Now, on to the trivia. I took my first trip to Disneyland in 1969. That's me in the photo when I was nine years old - I'm the one in the stripped shirt. I was a big Disney fan even before that trip. Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color was a Sunday night staple at our house. And, I think I saw every Disney film that played at our local theater. But, that first Disneyland trip really planted a seed that later would become an obsession.

My Disney collection started innocently when I received The Art of Walt Disney as a gift. Walt Disney: An American Original followed that up. At first, my collection was very random. I didn't focus on a particular item or style. Of course, this was before the Disney Store and the Internet, so collecting was much more difficult. Starting in the 90's I began to focus on books.

The Nickel Tour My postcard collection started with the purchase of The Nickel Tour – probably the best book written on Disneyland history. I had seen Disneyland postcards here and there, but didn't realize the sheer volume of cards or their importance in Disneyland history until I read The Nickel Tour.

Numbering System While we're on the subject of the Nickel Tour, you may notice as you mouse-over the postcard images, two numbers pop-up. The first number is the serial number that appears in the stamp box. The second number is the Nickel Tour designation. More on postcard numbering here.

Disneyland Trading Cards I started collecting Disneyland Trading Cards by accident. While searching for postcards I came across the 1965 Disneyland Bubble Gum card series by Donruss. There are numerous views in the trading cards that were not seen in the postcards.

Of course once I had the tenth anniversary cards I had to add the 40th anniversary and now the 50th anniversary.

My collection comes from a variety of sources, but mostly from online auctions and trade shows. These items are from my personal collection are not for sale. But, in the books section, I have provided links to Amazon.com if the item is still available.

Take a look around. No E-tickets or park-hopper passes required here. Enjoy a stroll through my books, postcards and trading cards and of course happy collecting. You can also take a look at what's new by visiting my blog.

I'd love to hear from you, but please no requests for appraisals.
