The Story of Disneyland 1955 1955 - Disneyland is now open for business and we have the very first guide book. It's really more of a pamphlet than a book coming in at only 16 pages. Produced by Western Printing (the same people behind the The Little Golden Books) and it really does have the look and feel of the Little Golden Books with pencil drawings and water color pictures. Picture Souvenir Book of Disneyland In Natural Color 1955 Additions / Changes Since Last Publication: Published in the same year as the first guide book we see a complete overhaul. Dimensions remain the same but the book switches to landscape format; tosses out the water color pictures in favor of actual photos and adds eight more pages. All of the photos used in the book are also available for purchase as postcards. Park navigation improves with the use of a drawn aerial map in the inside front cover.
